Getting There
Launch from the Frontenac Provincial Park Trail Centre at the entrance to the park.

Beginning at the Trail Centre paddle around the perimeter of South Otter Lake. Take the portage to Doe Lake and then paddle down Doe Lake to campsite # 2, in Frontenac Provincial Park. Paddle time: 1-2 hrs).
Added paddling is from South Otter Lake into North Otter Lake going through the islands west and then back to the Frontenac Provincial Park Trail Centre.
There is one Frontenac Provincial Park (FPP) campsite areas on this route, with it's own toilet facilities.
! Area # 2 (see map): There are 3 separate campsites.
If you wish to extend your trip from South Otter to Doe Lake, there is a portage that must be negotiated:
! South Otter Lake to Doe Lake - 341 meters (1,119 feet).
All campsites must be booked through the Frontenac Provincial Park office. Additional information on all park details may be found at the park office.
Sight Seeing
Apart from the spectacular wilderness sites, there are also some further items to see:
1. The Frontenac Provincial Park Trail Centre at the confluence of North and South Otter Lake.
2. On the left hand side, as you paddle down South Otter Lake, there is an old mine called the Kemp Mine. It is on the hiking route the parallels the lake.
3. Also on the left hand side, further down, is an old trapper shack. Once again it is on the hiking trail.
4. As you enter Doe Lake, at the end of the portage, on the left hand side a short distance up the lake is an observation area. It is accessible from the hiking trail.
