SUP Boards Have Arrived at Frontenac Outfitters!
Tahoe SUP (Stand Up Paddle Boards) were created by Nate Brouwer and his Australian Shepard Stella, while paddling across beautiful Lake Tahoe one evening. SUP was a great way chill-out and tool around the shore. Sometimes he’d pull off an end-of-the-day epic journey across the lake before dark. Sometimes he had a destination, sometimes he didn’t. It didn’t matter! It was pretty rare that anything could change the great vibe when Nate was on his board, but this day the winds were cross, Stella was nipping at the heels of the white caps, and Nate had trouble keeping a straight course on his way back to shore. ‘This board is terrible!’ he told Stella. Something had just occurred to Nate, he was spending all his time on a board that sucked. In fact all the boards he’d been on sucked! By the time Nate & Stella got back to shore he had a new mission: To design a stable board that paddled true. And then a stable of stable boards that paddled true. Boards that we’re amazing on flat water even when it wasn’t flat. SUP boards that never wrecked an evening vibe. SUP boards that were ‘specifically designed for touring.’ And he has! Note: SUP evolved from California’s surfing industry, and all surfboards have are designed with curved hulls and rounds noses to enhance maneuverability, this means they are ‘NOT’ designed to paddle straight. ‘ALL’ Tahoe SUP boards are specifically designed for touring so include: Longer boards, narrower boards with pointed noses and deeper displacement hulls to cut the water to enhance stability and tracking (the ability to go straight). Today Tahoe SUP is widely recognized as World Leader in Displacement Hull, Touring Boards. Frontenac Outfitters Canoe & Kayak Centre offers YOU the opportunity … Now who else does that!
