In a world now dominated by big box stores, our family based business is proud to bear the banner of “a rural Canadian success story”!
A quarter century ago, most canoes were purchased “off the wall” with little to no ability to test paddle prior to purchase. The idea of a focused ‘On-Water Paddling Centre’ was virtually non-existent in most of Canada. Frontenac Outfitters decided to buck that trend by purchasing the large wooded, waterfront property and settler homestead at the entrance to the Frontenac Provincial Park. Our location allows us to offer a complete selection of on-water sales, rentals, tours, courses and paddling clinics.
We opened in 1984 as a small canoe rental business to service Frontenac provincial Park (F.P.P.), which officially opened its trail centre the same year. F.P.P. is Canada’s most southern semi-Wilderness Park; 15,000 acres, 22 lakes and 160 km’s of hiking trails. With little highway signage, and only 48 interior campsites that are only accessible by paddling or hiking. The Park is still widely regarded today as one of Ontario’s best-kept secrets!

Our simple philosophies have stood the test of time as we have sold boats to far away places like England, France, Norway, Florida and even Central America.
Knowledge of our industry and its products has led us to become an integral part of the manufacturing process for a number of companies. We have been involved in the development and refinement of a number of new boats and gear items to help provide our customers with the best products possible each season.
